The doctors's prediction about a patient's health is determined by the "Standard of Care".  This is written by the drug companies, insurance companies, governments or hospitals.  Whoever writes the "Standard of Care" is the person or institution interpreting your test results.

The purpose of a test is to determine the truth of what the patient is saying.  A test can not tell a patient anything that you and his body doesn't already know.  The meaning of a test is totally arbitrary and up to the doctor to interpret the test.

Tests are designed to get the patient to submit to another test or a drug or a medical procedure.  The new tests are designed to lead the patient to more tests medical procedures.  For every drug a doctor recommends 3 times the cost is spent to treat the side effects.

The doctors are instructed to tell the patient that he must take the initial drug for the rest of his life.  The doctor is also told that he must not stop any medication.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)uses a magnetic field with pulses of radio frequencies make a picture of the patient's body.  Other problems with the MRI:

  • The name was chosen so that patients would not be concerned about the radiation.
  • MRI's make no contribution to the quality of care of patients.  Patient benefit was not the driving force behind development of the technology. Hospitals believed that they could increase the charges for more services by using the MRI machine to make picturs.  Even in the case of state run hospitals taxes still have to be allocated.
  • The new technology of the MRI was being evaluated by using the old technology (XRays) as the gold standard.  This means that the MRI could not add anything more than XRays as far as patient care.
  • The body is placed into a very strong electo-magnetic field.  Then the body is pulsed with electro-magnetic radiation.  Structures inside the body become visible.
  • All imaging methods usuing old technology have false positive rates of 5% to 10%.  Many times they see things that are not there.  The MRI has a higher false positive rate   Mamograms that use MRI's for example to detect Breast Cancer have a 13% false positive rate.  (Only .65% of the postive Breast Cancer scans actually get Breast Cancer).  This means that there are 20 unnecessary biopsies for every one cancer case that is found.  Regular Mamograms have a 10% false positive rate.
  • Contrasting materials such as dies are used that sometimes cause life threatening allergic reactions and can destroy the kidneys as well as other organs.
  • If the patient has any metal in his body at all such as metal fillings, metal clips, tatoos that use metal based paints, etc. these items can become projectiles and damage the body during the MRI.
  • MRI's can cause the tissue to heat up.  Some of the same frequencies are deliberately being used to destroy unwanted liver tissue.
  • The MRI tests are designed to convince the patient to have more testing, more drugs, more surgeries.
