I can not diagnose any medical condition. People do not realize that all degenerative disease stems from nutritional deficiencies. When you give the body what it needs the body heals itself. If you do not give the body what it needs it begins to breakdown. That breakdown may manifest itself as high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, alzheimers, asthma, pain, weight gain, inflammation and any other disease.
Disease is the body telling the person that there is a problelm. If the problem is not fixed the persons health will get worse. Certainly alcohol does not help. Poor diet does not help.
There are four conditions which cause the body to become stressed: Dehydration, Suffocation, Starvation and Toxification. When the body encounters any of these conditions it react badly.
The main cause of distress in the body is from food. This is one of the ways that harmful substances get into the body. 90% of the problems that people have come through the mouth as food.
It sounds like your father's condition is very serious. Drugs and medical procedures do not heal the body. In order to heal the body the person must eliminate food triggers and make sure they are absorbing the proper nutrition.
It sounds like your father has a circulatory conditon, a blood sugar management problem, and a liver problem, and a fat processing problem. If your father can not process fats very well he will not be able to absorb the fat soluable vitamins. These vitamins are critical for health and the circulatory system.
Related to this is the blood sugar management system which includes the liver and the pancreas. Without these two organs life becomes very difficult. I would also have to suspect the kidney and adrenals being involved because all the systems are connected.
I can tell you what I would do if I had a similar problem:
Fast - Reduce eating for 24 hours to allow the digestive tract to recover
Drink nutrition - it is far easier to digest foods in liquid form. Use bone soup, broth, etc.
Make sure to drink plenty of clean fresh water. A person needs 1 liter of water for every 25 kilos of body weight
Deep Breathing - Breath in and out slowly through the nose with the belly for a few minutes every few hours
Reduce caloric in take - sugar in the form of fruit, bread, grains, rice and potatoes add further inflammation to the body, destroys organs and leads to insulin resistance
Supplement the diet with Vitamins in the proper form (use Beyond Tangy Tangerine from my website) and Minerals. Some of them are Vitamins D, E, A, K, C, B complex (Niacin, Thiamin, Folate) Magnesium, Zinc, Potassium, Chromium, Vanadium, Selenium, MSM (Sulfur), CoQ10, Copper, Sunshine
Use Cod Liver Oil, flax seed oil, hemp seed oil
Use Apple Cider Vinegar to acidify the stomach
Correct digestive problems by avoiding foods that upset the digestive tract, using digestive enzymes such as lecithin, lysine, pancreatin, biotin, bile salts, NAC, inositol cystein
Increase Protein Intake by using powder protein such as whey protein, lots of eggs soft cooked
Eat fermented foods like kefir, yogurt, kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut,
Use probiotics
Avoid cooking oils, eat raw foods and juiced vegetables
use Oil of Oregano to alleviate inflammation
Protect the thyroid by using iodine such as iodorol or nascent iodine
Eat plenty of raw vegetables. Use curcumin, tumeric, cayenne
Watch the bowel movements to make sure they are normal
