Swelling in the feet, ankles, hands, etc. is usually Edema. It is not normal at any age. It is not genetic. Edema is an imbalance of not enough salt in the body, not enough water and poor circulation.
If it is Edema, you need to improve circulation by:
Drinking more fresh clean water. You need 1 liter of water for every 50 pounds of body weight. Do not drink other beverages like beer, sodas, etc. Distilled water may be your best choice. Dehydration is a major cause of many so called diseases. Thick sticky blood can cause all sorts of problems ranging from Edema to stroke and heart attack.
There is a balance of electrolytes in the body. If those electrolytes are imbalanced the body will try to establish the balance by holding on to water. Most people do not realize that the body is electric. Similar to a car battery, when there is not enough salt in the body the electrical transmission is interrupted and disease sets in. As proof, consider what a farmer feeds his animals or what a hunter puts out to attract deer. A salt ****. When in the hospital what is one of the first things they give a patient? Saline solution. Salt. There is a famous school experiment where you place a strip of zinc and copper in a glass of water and you measure the charge as you add salt to the water. You might consider whole salt like Himalayan salt and Celtic Sea Salt instead of table salt.
When the heart becomes week blood can pool in the lower legs. The heart is very electric. Vitamin E (Tocotrienols and Tocopherols), CoQ10 in the oil capsule form, Magnesium, Selenium, Zinc, Cod liver oil, Vitamin C and Vitamin B1 will help to improve heart health. Vitamin D from the sun and from the sun is also important. If you have a fat absorption problem you will not be able to absorb the vitamins and minerals mentioned above. You will need to closely monitor your digestion of foods and notice what foods upset digestion causing gas, bloating, constipation diahrrea, cramps, etc. Eliminate those foods from your diet. You may also need to improve digestion by taking digestive enzymes, lecithing, bile salts, glycine, bone soup, apple cider vinegar with meals, eating fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, kombucha, kimchi and sauerkraut.
Go for a 30 minute walk every day to move the blood and the lymph. Jump on a rebounder.
Deep diaphamatic breathing helps to oxygenate the blood. The heart needs lots of oxygen. Breath deeply from the belly slowly through the nose a few times per day for two minutes. You can literally watch your blood pressure go down doing this.
