Assuming its a New computer & you've just recently bought it, then you take it back to the shop you purchased it from.

There are still unknown points to your question... How do you know the software is faulty.?

Why dont you delete & reinstall the software if that is so, because you will have the software disc with a new computer.

Is it the OS (windows 7 or 8 ) you're talking about.? if so, can you do a 'System Recover' or 'Recover System Settings'

by going: Start > programs > maintenance >  back up & restore > Recover system settings.
