blood warmer

why is it using blood warmer not a ggod practice in surgical unit?why are we going back to the old practice exposing the blood out for 30mis before transfusion.........it can be contaminated and can be a source of microbial pathogens.can we debate on this?what are the nurses perception and health care providers on this?
