Can anyone assist with clarifying the difference between these two concepts am a bit confused...

Hi,

retrospective means the new law takes into account the past or previous laws, but only applies from this point forwards.

retroactive means that the new law today applies even to past cases example if a law was passed today it would normally only apply to cases from today onwards, but if retroactive, the law applies to past cases as if it existd back then.
