Toyota Pardo TZ turbo charged intercool diesel 2982 cc ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ON

I have this 1998 Toyota Pardo TZ with turbo charged intercool diesel engine 2982 cc, Model KD-KZJ 95W, Engine model 1KZ2-TE when engine is hot and on hard acceleration, engine check light will come ON and engine starts knocking (Timing too advance) and lose power.

I have carried out the following tests

1. Exchanged the ECU with a good one from another Toyota Pardo and the result is still the same. (Engine Light ON)

2. And also tested the MAP senser & the turbo pressure senser (2 sensers located at the Intercool) in the same way by exchanged with them with another car, the results are the same. The Engine Check Light still comes ON.

3. Changed the sensers at the side of the Fuel Injection Pump, the result is still the same.

This proved that the ECU,  MAP senser & the turbo pressure senser and sensers at the side of the Fuel Injection Pump are in good condition.

What is the problems?  Any one has this same problem? Can anyone please help.

this could be alot of things depending on how your cars acting it could be and emission leak to you fuel filter its probly easest to take it in and have a mechnical look at it and tell uwhats wrong with it then you can decide whether or not you can do it or let them take care of it

Thank you all for the information & help.

I have solved the problem. smile.gif

It is the Hydraulic plunger (Hydraulic governor) at the side of the fuel injection pump, that control the injection timing. Signal is sent from the ECU to this Hydraulic plunger for the amount of fuel to go through and when to actuate. Of course the ECU collect all signals such as air temperature, air pressure, throttle positions, etc. to determine when and amount of fuel to inject.
