Elections are the best test for democracy in a country where the citizens are aware of the importance of rights and duties equally. They are wise enough to decide and assess human values. Otherwise it is a pre-supposed term. A study of democratic countries shows that a country where the people are less aware of the quality of administration fails in maintaining the democratic values and steering it to peace 

and prosperity.

Free and open elections perhaps. Many countries have elections but can hardly be called democratic ----Kenya? Russia? China?

I am a citizen of the worlds largest democracy,India. Friends all we Indians are fed up of this mighty evil [corruption] destroying the legacy of our mother land.
