Is just a span of time,the consciousness of our mind lasts. Not a single person in earth has a perfect answer,but hypothesis. It depends what theory one is most inclined or impressed by. I believe there is nothing called soul or spirit, but the consciousness in our brain that makes us feel alive, is given the name. This closes the doors for talks like reincarnation and alike.
