My broken alternator is 14volts, 140amps, can I replace it with a 12volts, 125amps without getting any problem?
Some one told me that 12-volt systems charges at 14~14.7volts and that 120amps will be more than enough to power my Chevy Venture 2003 LT on stock/standard electronics load. What do you think?

Hi an alternator older than this generation automobiles would probably not affect the car, but consider this the year on your Chevy Venture is 2003, this is a time of a different style of "wrenching", to be safe I'd definately recommend taking your alternator to a rebuild shop. If not to repair it, and give you proffessional advice, than at least recommend what you could do. Just to be safe! THe year and make of your automobile is still young, so I'd not count on junkyard, or recycled parts! Less doing it trice...lol! Good Luck!
