How dare you stop flying the English flag because it will upset 16 Muslims who will think of the Crusades. We were requested, begged even, to help the Byzantine Empire who were being ethnically cleansed by Muslims, we helped them in 6 Crusades before they were wiped out. Islam has declared thousands of Jihads since then and has wiped out millions of people in atrocity after atrocity, over 2,000 Jihads since 9/11!
You are insulting the English and over 1,000 years history by not flying the flag of England to appease warmongering tribes in the Middle East, if they choose to live here it is because they want to live in England surely?
Put the flag back and stop with this PC rubbish, this is the stupid, insulting and pointless action that will lose Labour every supporter in the country and fuel racism, you don't think so? ask your electorate (the people who will vote you in or out).
You are here to provide service, not politically control our every thought, you are failing to provide that service and at the same time you are being insulting to grown adults, to appease, just to reinforce the idea, WARMONGERING Middle East Tribes! Don't you dare say Islam is a religion of peace, it is not, the Koran is a warfare guide and tells you how and when to kill Infidels, ie you. Please read it or speak to someone with a brain who has if you think otherwise.
Puzzled by this post, I googled the topic and discovered that it refers to a furore that has arisen in Radstock, Somerset, over a Labour councillor's proposal that the town's civic flagpole should no longer fly the flag of St. George. Amazingly it was passed in a vote so she must have persuaded others.
Muslim organisations have not supported this nonsensical move, and one of them has pointed out that in any case St. George lived before the crusades.
I hope those who in recent decades have been using the crusades to foment trouble today are fair-minded enough to now pay close attention to Rageh Omaar's current series about the Ottomans. The facts he gives amount to a damning list of outrages perpetrated on the Christian world by the invading Ottomans in Medieval times. They wanted an empire, and they got it after Constantinople fell in 1453 ending 1,000 years of Byzantine rule. Unlike the crusades, whose aim had been to win back what had been taken away by force centuries before, this had no mitigating factors for it was driven by pure greed and aggression - a lust to dominate and rule.
