Hello, I'd like to ask where I would start to find out how to have a very tall conifer tree cut down that is on an unadopted road and butts up to our property.  Although the people who live in the house opposite the tree claim it is theirs, there is nothing to back this up as it is actually across the unadopted road from them and along some waste ground.  They also don't wish to help us with this problem, despite a polite letter to them for assistance, as they had a dispute over the ground with the previous occupants of our house, some 10 years ago.  As the tree is very tall, looking as though it is dying off in some places and "creeks" in the wind we are afraid it will fall down onto our conservatory soon and basically destroy it!  Thanks.
