Yesterday I had a fall and hit my head, I was unconscious for a few minutes, and have a large lump on my head, also bruising to my back. (The skin is not broken) I went to the local WiC, where they said as it was a head injury they would arrange for an ambulance to take me to a larger A&E, when I arrived at the A&E I was triaged by a Doctor who said I should stay there for a couple of hours so they could monitor me. About 10 mins later another Doctor said I could go home. I hadn't had an xray or scan of my head, nobody even looked at my back. Was this correct procedure?
Obviously not. You need to discuss this with your GP right away to make sure that you have no internal bleeding. I hope you are alive by the time you see this. q:
Did anyone look at your pupils and see whether one was dilated more than the other? If there was a disparity then it would have suggested internal bleeding and the possible need for an operation.
Several of them checked my eyes, but they seemed to be OK., However, I did suffer memory loss, and I still cannot remember what happened. One of the nurses said I might remember - or I might not. My GP and the A&E doctor checked the CT scan results and the x-rays, and things seem OK.
